CPL (Ret.) Justin Masten, USA
Justin grew up involved in baseball, rodeo, basketball, and track in his home town of Starks, LA. After high school, he joined the Marines to serve his country and have a career.
He was deployed to Iraq in 2008, then to Afghanistan in December 2010. The following month he stepped on a pressure-plated IED on January 16, 2011, which took his right leg and most of his left leg. He spent 40 days in Maryland before landing in San Antonio in March of 2011 to finish his rehabilitation. As of today, Justin is in the final steps of medically retiring from the military and should be starting the next chapter of his life in the next few weeks.
Justin and his son look forward to living near his childhood home in Louisiana where they will have great support from family and friends. He loves hunting and the outdoors and hopes to open his own gun shop while teaching his son everything he knows.
