Corporal Steven Schulz, U.S. Marine

 Helping a Hero.org, Friendswood Development Company, Perry Homes, Rotary District 5890 and the VA join together to build a brand new home for Corporal Steven Schulz, USMC. Over 100 people attended the groundbreaking where Steven's home will be built in the West Ranch Subdivision in Friendswood, TX and is expected to be completed in mid September.

Mission Statement:

Helping a Hero is a 501(c)(3) non profit, non-partisan organization providing support for military personnel? severely injured in the war on terror. Our principal activity is to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying service members as well as engaging the community to provide services and resources for our wounded heroes and their families.

 
Our Heroes

SSgt Daniel Gilyeat, U.S. Marine

Kansas City, Kansas
Daniel was injured when an IED exploded and took out his left leg leaving shrapnel in his body. He was given the last
rights 3 times due to a tremendous loss of blood. He is now a single amputee and is a single dad with 4 children ages
9,8,6,4.
